According to the report, the dozens of barriers placed, since the early hours of this Monday, by the forces of order and security, with the intention of banning the circulation of people, was also extended to communication professionals.

Journalists reported scenes of "disrespect" and "arrogance" starring "police officers" when they tried to justify their presence on the street.

"There were four barriers right away, and on the fourth, the indication is that nobody should pass, it was too arrogant, they didn't even listen to people, it was just arriving and they (police officers) said they should return home," he told Lusa. journalist Isidro Chiteculo.

The professional from Rádio Ecclesia - Emissora Católica de Angola - who left the municipality of Viana, towards the center of Luanda, said that his credential for police personnel was not relevant.

And as a solution, he added, "we had to use another route" because "they (police officers) did not even allow dialogue." "There was a lot of arrogance, which shows that many officers are unclear. There are several colleagues who also went through this and I don't know what tomorrow will be like ", he shot.

Since Friday, the country has been in a state of emergency that can be extended, which extends until 11 April, with the prohibition of people and vehicles on the public road, in the agglomerations and at a specific time for the sale of food, among the measures.

Presidential Decree No. 82/20, of 26 March, which defines the exception measures in force during the state of emergency to contain the spread of Covid-19, states that the public and private media "keep if in operation "and may adopt a measure to reduce the number of people in person.

However, reacting to the concerns of Angolan journalists, Waldemar José, director of the Ministry of Interior's Institutional communication and press office, said that in addition to the credentials, journalists "must certify" that they are scheduled for activity.

In a message released by social networks, the official noted that only the pass or credential "is not enough" recommending the administrations of the media to issue a "scale that certifies that the professional should go out on the street".

"We recommend scales as proof that you are scheduled to work at that hour or day and, therefore, you will be allowed to circulate. You must understand that the situation starts to tighten up more and more and if there is a possibility of community cases we will tighten up more and more" , he noticed.

Then, he added, "we are doing the filter at the level of the main roads" and those who cannot prove they are on their way to the service "will not pass, in the next few days it will be worse".

"In addition to the pass, they must display the work schedule, duly signed to be displayed to the police authorities", concluded Waldemar José.
