Lucapa wants to raise 3.9 million to bet on new national diamond project

The Australian company Lucapa Diamond Company wants to continue investing in the domestic diamond sector. To this end, and according to the Australian Stock Exchange, it has issued new shares in order to raise enough funds to start a new diamond mining project in Angola.

This is the second time Lucapa Diamond Company has issued shares. This time, writes Macauhub, the company will raise 3.9 million dollars.

The company's shareholders had until the end of Monday to decide if they wanted to subscribe for the new shares, as the proposal provided for the subscription of around 35.6 million shares.

The first time Lucapa Diamond Company raised USD 2.8 million, it issued around 25.8 million shares.

Lucapa Diamond Company is the main operator of Sociedade Mineira do Lulo (40 per cent), where it has Endiama as partners (32 per cent), and the Angolan company Rosa & Petalas (28 per cent).
