João Lourenço summons Council of the Republic

The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, called on Wednesday the Council of the Republic to listen to the councilors in the scope of the reinforcement of the measures to prevent and combat the pandemic of covid-19, according to a note from the Civil House.

The chief executive decided to convene the Council of the Republic "to listen to the advisers of that body" on strengthening measures to prevent, contain and combat the spread of covid-19, caused by the new coronavirus in Angola, informs the Civil House of the President of the Republic.

The Council of the Republic is an advisory body that includes the Vice President of the Republic, the President of the National Assembly, the President of the Constitutional Court, the Attorney General of the Republic, leaders of political parties with parliamentary seats and invited entities.

 João Lourenço also decided to listen to the National Assembly, sending a government delegation headed by the Minister of State and head of the House of Security and coordinator of the Inter-ministerial Commission created to combat the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, General Pedro Sebastião.

The Minister of Health, Silvia Lutucuta, announced this Monday a new positive case of infection by the new coronavirus in Angola, bringing to three the number of infections registered by the health authorities.
