Portuguese company ensures flight with 17 tons of pharmaceutical products to Luanda

Pinto Basto, a Portuguese company present in Angola since 2002, this week carries out a logistical operation aimed at the air transport of about 17 tons of pharmaceutical products to Luanda.

In a statement sent to VerAngola, the company says that this logistical operation was made possible with the support of several companies in the pharmaceutical sector operating in Portugal and due to the existence of exceptional flights to Angola.

Taking into account the confirmation of the first cases of coronavirus in the country, the "need for pharmaceutical products" in the territory was accentuated. However, with the enactment of a state of emergency, international flights were suspended.

Despite everything, Pinto Basto was able to "create a scenario that makes it possible to carry out this logistical operation", involving teams in Angola and Portugal. "So that products can reach those who need them most," says the company.

The officials hope that "this first operation will be carried out successfully, so that it can be repeated over the next few weeks".

"The realization of this first air transport was well received, mainly because the demand for all types of pharmaceutical products is very high. We are in permanent contact with the exporting companies and with the importers in Angola to ensure that we will be able to meet the needs of the market" , adds the Portuguese company in the statement.
