Angolan Lito Vidigal returns to coach Portuguese club Boavista

Angolan Lito Vidigal was chosen to take on the role of Boavista coach. According to the announcement made this Monday by the Portuguese club, Vidigal is back in the team, after having coached it for two seasons (2018/2019 and 2019/2020).

According to the Portuguese club's statement, which VerAngola had access to, Lito Vidigal's contract is valid until the end of the current season.

"Boavista FC, Futebol SAD informs that Lito Vidigal is the new coach of the main team, having signed a contract valid until the end of the current season", reads the note.

"Lito Vidigal, 55 years old, who has played 191 games in the I Liga, returns to Bessa, after having represented the club in the 2018/19 and 2019/20 seasons, in which Boavista FC finished the championship in eighth and 12th place, respectively", adds the emblem.

The Angolan will replace Cristiano Bacci, who submitted his resignation, which was later accepted by Boavista.

"Boavista FC, Futebol SAD informs that it has accepted the resignation submitted by coach Cristiano Bacci, who leaves, with immediate effect, the technical command of the main team", revealed the club, in another note, released last Saturday and to which VerAngola had access.

Lito Vidigal has a rich resume: he was the coach of the national football team (2011/2012), as well as having been in charge of several Portuguese clubs in addition to Boavista, such as Estrela da Amadora, Marítimo, Vitória de Setúbal, among others.

He has also coached Maccabi Tel Aviv (Israel), Ael Limassol (Cyprus) and Al Ittihad Tripoli (Libya).

Vidigal was born in Angola in July 1969 and is currently 55 years old.
