"We have great potential in the country. Not only in terms of geology, but also in terms of infrastructure and laboratories," said the Minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, who was speaking after visiting Angola's two stands at the Mining Indaba 2025, taking place from this Monday in South Africa.
Speaking to journalists in Cape Town, cited in a statement from the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Petroleum and Gas (Mirempet) to which VerAngola had access, Diamantino Azevedo stressed that in Angola there are "all the conditions for investors" to invest in country.
"Years ago, we carried out a major program to acquire new geological information. Because we have a stable country with good mining legislation, Angola has all the conditions for investors to come and invest," he said.
As far as the event is concerned, the objective is no different from the usual. According to the minister, the prospects for this edition involve attracting investors to the country's mining sector.
"We prepared our arrival well in advance. The meetings with potential investors were duly selected and we will present to them what we have in Angola in terms of geological and other infrastructures," he said.
He added that "the objective is to establish a relationship in which our country wins, but investors also win".
"We want mining activities to be carried out with respect for the environment and inclusive of the communities that are in the vicinity of mining projects. This is the message we have brought whenever we come to this and other mining conferences," he said, quoted in statement.
Diamantino Azevedo added that, "in addition to its objective, Mirempet has also given attention to the empowerment of families, employment for young people, as well as the creation of wealth in all areas where there are mining projects", stressing that the country "has always sought to transmit this to other nations on the continent where mining is carried out".
Regarding the "need to unify synergies to strengthen the African mining industry", the minister considered that "it remains to continue working together with other African countries, so that there are more synergies" between the peoples and that "these skills are used by others".
"Only together will we provide development for the African continent," he said.
It is worth mentioning that the 31st edition of Mining Indaba 2025 takes place from February 3 to 6, in South Africa.
