The director spoke this Wednesday, after a meeting with the President of the Republic, João Lourenço.
In statements to the press, cited in a statement from the Presidency of the Republic to which VerAngola had access, Akunna Eziakonwa reported that she had "an excellent meeting with the President of the Republic", in which the cooperation and partnership between the Government of Angola and the UNDP, "which is historic", was analyzed.
"It is within the framework of this partnership, she explained, that we will support the Lobito Corridor development project as part of the process of diversifying Angola's economy," the note reads.
According to the official, the meeting also served to congratulate João Lourenço on his recent election as President of the African Union.
"UNDP, founded in November 1965, is a United Nations agency whose mandate is to promote development and eradicate poverty in the world," the statement said.
