According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to which VerAngola had access, the document was signed at the Angolan Embassy in the capital of Ethiopia.
"This agreement, signed at the premises of the Angolan Embassy in the Ethiopian capital, was signed by Téte António, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and his Comorian counterpart, Mbae Mohamed, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, responsible for the Arab World, Diaspora, Francophonie and African Integration of the Union of the Comoros", says the note.
The legal instrument concerns the General Cooperation Agreement between the Government of Angola and the Government of the Union of the Comoros, which establishes cooperation relations in the political, economic, scientific and social sectors.
"This agreement creates the general basis for the promotion of technical cooperation between the parties in the most varied areas, in accordance with the applicable international law standards, laws and regulations in force", says the note.
Thus, the two countries "commit to developing and strengthening their relations based on legal equality, mutual respect, national sovereignty and territorial integrity, without neglecting interference in the internal affairs of each State and safeguarding mutual interests."
