The official spoke to the press this Tuesday, after having been received in audience by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço.

According to a statement from the Presidency of the Republic, to which VerAngola had access, the meeting served for them to talk about investments.

After the meeting, Reid said he had discussed with João Lourenço "aspects related to investment projects" in the fields of health, housing and infrastructure, among others, "which will have a great impact in the future".

"This is my first visit to Angola, and during this meeting with the President we talked about what we are capable of doing as the UK Export Credit Agency," he said.

Furthermore, he also highlighted that "two billion pounds is the value of investment guarantees that UKEF has for Angola", says the note.

According to Angop, the CEO of UKEF has been on a three-day visit to Angola since Monday, with his program including a visit to the Azancot de Menezes Maternal and Child Hospital and the province of Benguela, where he will hold meetings with those responsible for Innovo and Carrinho.

Established in 1919, UKEF "promotes the prosperity of finance and insurance for UK exports and has supported more than two dozen countries".
