President's daughter takes over as president of Bodiva

The daughter of the President of the Republic, Cristina Dias Lourenço, will temporarily assume the role of President of the Executive Committee of the Angolan Debt and Securities Exchange (Bodiva). Her appointment, announced this Thursday, comes after Walter Pacheco left the position to take up a role at another institution in the financial sector.

Bodiva, in a statement sent to VerAngola, informs that new interim members of the Board of Directors have been appointed, "following the vacancy of the positions of Chairman of the Executive Committee and Executive Director".

According to the decision, which came out of the extraordinary meeting held this Thursday, will assume, "on an interim basis, the role of President of the Executive Committee, the oldest member of the Executive Committee, Cristina Giovanna Dias Lourenço", who was appointed to this body in 2020.

"Ms. Cleiton Pereira de Barros and Natália Carvalho de Jesus, who until now had served as directors, are acting as Executive Directors on an interim basis, by co-optation," Bodiva also reports.

These are transitional appointments until the composition of the new board of the exchange is elected next month.

"The composition of Bodiva's new Board of Directors will be subject to ratification/election at the General Shareholders' Meeting to be held on March 21, 2025", explains the company.

It is worth remembering that, at the end of last month, Bodiva announced that Walter Pacheco and Odair da Costa would no longer hold the positions of Chairman of the Executive Committee and Chief Executive Officer, respectively, as they were taking on roles in other entities in the financial sector.
