The National Archeology Museum is located in Benguela and has a collection comprising approximately 9150 pieces.
The pieces that make up the collection include, for example, pebbles, chips, blades, among others.
With 8000 square meters, the museum building, which dates back to the 17th and 18th centuries, was once a slave warehouse. After colonial times, the property was taken over by the Angolan Customs.
Its creation took place in 1976, and the museum has permanent, temporary and traveling exhibitions.
The museum was rehabilitated and reopened in May 2023.
