According to Angop, with the national football team's passage to the round of 16 of the competition, the African Football Confederation (CAF) granted Angola 800,000 dollars. Qualification for the 'quarters' allowed the national team to receive 1,300,000 dollars.

So, all in all, the country's participation in the continental competition enabled the national team to raise 2,100,000 dollars.

Remember that, in the group stage, Angola recorded two wins and a draw: the 'Palancas Negras' beat their counterparts from Mauritania (3-2) and Burkina Faso (2-0) and drew with Algeria by a ball equal.

These results allowed the team to advance to the 'eighth' of the CAN. At this stage, the team coached by Pedro Gonçalves met Namibia, whom they beat by three balls to zero.

Angola's campaign in CAN2023 ended in the quarter-finals, after the team lost to its counterpart Nigeria 1-0.

The big winner of CAN2023 was the host Ivory Coast, which, according to Angop, won a prize worth 11,600,000 dollars. The second-placed team, the Nigerian team, pocketed 8,600,000 dollars, while South Africa (third place) pocketed 7,100,000 dollars.
