According to Angop, the accumulation of water, rubbish and the lack of cleaning of the interior contribute to the partial degradation of the infrastructure.
Of its collection, made up of approximately 6500 books, 2000 have already been lost. Speaking to Angop, Rita Francisco Bamba informed that the degradation scenario meant that the 2000 books were damaged.
Although at the end of 2022 work began on changing the sheets to replace the roof, the scenario within the infrastructure remains the same.
The official also informed that the six municipalities of Bengo also have libraries that are inoperative, having been turned into municipal offices. Therefore, she appealed to the authorities to make efforts to recover and restart the activity of the aforementioned infrastructures, with a view to providing support to students.
It should be noted that the library opened its doors in 2014, receiving more than 400 people per month, including students and public employees from the province and from Cacuaco and Viana, both municipalities in Luanda, writes Angop.
