Angola and Ghana reinforce cooperation with the signing of nine legal instruments

Bilateral cooperation between Angola and Ghana was reinforced with the signing of nine legal instruments, which took place on the sidelines of the sixth ministerial session of the Bilateral Commission between Angola and Ghana, which took place this Monday morning, in Luanda.

The instruments cover several areas. According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to which VerAngola had access, one of the memorandums of understanding was signed between the Diplomatic Academy "Venâncio de Moura" of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the International Training Center for Peacekeeping "Kofi Annan" from Ghana.

Memoranda of understanding were also signed between the Angolan Government and the Government of Ghana in the field of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation; in the field of Language Proficiency Programs in the area of Education; in the field of Tourism and in the field of Arts and Culture.

Among the initialed instruments is also one between the Private Investment and Export Promotion Agency (AIPEX) and the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA) of Ghana; one between the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Petroleum and Gas and the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Ghana in the field of Prospecting and Exploitation of Hydrocarbon Resources; one between Rádio Nacional de Angola and the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation in the field of Broadcasting and finally an agreement between Public Television of Angola and the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation in the field of Exchange and Television Broadcasting;

According to the statement, on the Angolan side, the signatories of the memoranda were Domingos Custódio Vieira Lopes, Secretary of State for International Cooperation and Angolan Communities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pedro Afonso Cabral, president of the Board of Directors of Rádio Nacional de Angola, and Francisco José Mendes, president of the Board of Directors of Public Television of Angola.

On the Ghanaian side, the instruments were signed by Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong, deputy minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, responsible for Political and Economic Affairs of the Republic of Ghana, and Amin Alhassan, general director of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation.

"The memoranda of understanding now signed represent a significant step in strengthening bilateral relations between the Republic of Angola and the Republic of Ghana, auguring greater cooperation and exchange in the sectors covered, resulting in tangible benefits for both nations and their respective populations", the note reads.
