"We are reinforcing our team in Luanda that processes visas", he said, quoted by Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA).
The Portuguese official explained that the granting of visas has been increasing, at a time when demand is also increasing and, therefore, "frustration increases" not because fewer visas are being issued, but because demand is greater.
"I am actually aware of this and we are working to improve the circumstances. It is necessary, however, to take into account the following, we are increasing, we have been increasing the granting of visas quite significantly. What happens is that demand is also increasing and, therefore, frustration increases not because we are issuing fewer visas, we are issuing more, but because the demand is greater", said the official, quoted by RNA.
The minister also considered that the mobility agreement in the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP) will facilitate the granting of visas, reiterating that they are reinforcing the team in Luanda that works in this process: "We have the mobility agreement within the scope of the CPLP, which is in the process of being implemented, and this will facilitate the process of granting national visas, this is just for Portugal (...), but we are reinforcing our team in Luanda that processes visas", said the minister, quoted by RNA.
Gomes Cravinho also took the opportunity to point out that the visa rejection rate for Angola is very low.
"It is also important to mention that we have a very low rejection rate, almost all, the vast majority of those who apply for a visa, obtain a visa. Some do not obtain it because they do not have the necessary documentation and, therefore, it is not possible, but the the vast majority have. The demand is great, our willingness to receive is also very great, we are therefore working to improve this process of granting visas", he said, quoted by RNA.
