Angola creates National Integrated Search and Rescue System

Angola is going to create a National Integrated Search and Rescue System, according to a presidential decree approved this Wednesday by the Council of Ministers, which defines the legislative measures and regulations for emergency situations.

According to the final communiqué of the second ordinary session of the Council of Ministers, guided by the President, João Lourenço, the diploma contains legislative and regulatory measures applicable to the service of search, assistance and rescue of aircraft, vessels, ships or maritime devices and people endangered at sea, on land and in inland navigable waters under national jurisdiction.

The creation of the National Integrated Search and Rescue System stems from Angola's adherence to several international conventions, including the Chicago Convention.

In the same session, the Council of Ministers also approved, within the scope of indirect State administration, the Organic Statute of the National Institute for Religious Affairs (INAR), to conform the diploma to the new legal regime on public institutes, adapt its organic and functioning at the current moment of social dynamics in the religious domain.

The communiqué also mentions that, within the framework of foreign policy, several cooperation instruments were approved, including the Adhesion Agreement to the Smart Africa Alliance, which aims to establish a single African digital market, facilitating the exchange of information and knowledge between countries. of the region, important for the development of the sector.

Cooperation agreements were also approved with the Governments of Zambia, Namibia and Spain, at diplomatic level with the Government of India on visa exemption for holders of diplomatic, service or official passports and in the same sense with the Government of Gabon.

The Council of Ministers appreciated the presidential order that recognizes the legal personality of the Bornito de Sousa Foundation (former vice-president), a non-profit legal entity governed by private law, whose social objective is to support people, projects, communities, through philanthropic initiatives , in the field of education, youth and digital inclusion, local development and social inclusion, environmental sustainability, African and Afro-descendant pride, citizenship, leadership and good governance.

The draft law approving the Labor Procedure Code was considered by the Council of Ministers for submission to the National Assembly, with the statement emphasizing that this diploma aims to systematize, harmonize and bring together all the labor procedural rules in force in a single document.
