According to a statement from Sonangol, 21 companies were invited to participate in the tender launched between 6 January and 14 February 2023, for the supply of fuel, with eight proposals received.
After the clarification and negotiation phase, “the cost-effectiveness of the proposals was assessed, which resulted in the award of contracts to BP Oil International (gasoline) and Trafigura (diesel)”.
“The supply of said products is assured for the next 12 months, allowing the market to see its needs satisfied without fluctuations”, states the statement.
The contract, whose amounts were not disclosed, has an option to renew for another six months.
