According to the document, the second period classes last until the 29th of March, with the quarterly tests taking place between the 30th of March and the 8th of April. Notes will have to be published by the 14th of the same month, with the period officially ending on the 15th of April. Students will be able to count on a week of pedagogical break between 8 and 16 April.
The third period will start on the 18th of April, with the tests taking place between the 13th and 21st of June and the grades having to be published by the 24th of June. As for the exams, the oral exams will take place between the 23rd and the 27th of June and the written exams between the 29th of June and the 7th of July, says Expansão. The scores for these tests must be published by 13 July, with the appeal exams and special tests scheduled between 20 and 22 July. All rankings must be published by July 23rd.
In this way, students' holidays will take place between the last test and the 5th of September, the date set for the official opening of the 2022/2023 academic year, with classes starting on the 6th.
As for the teachers, they will be able to take a vacation from the 27th of June (for those who will not be on the examination boards) or from the 20th of July to the 20th of August for the teachers of the classes that have to apply a resource.
Remember that decree no. 84/22 is applicable to public, private and public-private institutions. Also to pre-school, primary and secondary education of the education subsystems, to general education, adult education, technical-professional secondary education and pedagogical secondary education of the teacher training subsystem. From the outside, university education is protected in a different way.
The document also mentions that the delivery of certificates – a reason for a complaint on the part of those in charge of education – should be carried out by 31 July.
The new school year (2022/2023) is also already defined: the re-confirmation of enrollments – automatic and up to the 13th grade – will take place between 27 June and 8 July. The registration of new students takes place between the 1st and the 12th of August, while the selection (including tests) takes place between the 15th and 25th of August. The enrollment of new students is scheduled for the days between August 29 and September 2. The official opening of the new school year takes place on the 5th of September, with the start of classes scheduled for the 6th.

The new school calendar was published in Diário da República, adapted to the reality imposed by the measures to combat covid-19. Classes end on the 13th of June, and the school year will be officially concluded on the 25th of July.
