Recreativo do Libolo players abandon training due to salary delay

The players of Recreativo do Libolo, guided by Portuguese coach Paulo Torres, refused to train this Tuesday, due to late salaries, a source from the club's management told Lusa.

According to the same source, the athletes have been without wages for about three months, and the Sunday game against Recreativo da Caála may miss, if a meeting, urgently scheduled by the club's management for Wednesday, does not resolve the problems.

Lusa contacted Portuguese coach Paulo Torres this Tuesday, who declined to speak on the matter.

"As you can imagine, I'm a coach and my job is to coach my players. This matter should be answered by the management of the club and not by me," he said.

Lusa contacted the technical director of Recreativo do Libolo, Vado, who also declined to speak on the matter.

In the Angolan football championship, Recreativo do Libolo is ranked ninth, with 23 points.
