Sonangol president says Ukrainian conflict will impact oil industry

The president of Sonangol said this Friday that the conflict in Ukraine will also have an impact on the oil industry, as well as around the world, admitting that it is necessary to make adjustments in logistical terms.

Sebastião Gaspar Martins was responding to Lusa at the end of a press conference in Luanda where the preliminary results of the oil company in 2021 were presented.

"Of course, as we are in a globalized world, all the effects that arise in terms of this type of conflict end up impacting the industry itself", considered the president of Sonangol, stressing that, if the foreseeable rise in oil prices "can help" Angola , there is also an impact around the activity in terms of logistics.

"Yes, it will have an impact, in the logistical aspects we will have some need to adjust. We are monitoring the evolution of this situation", he said.

Gaspar Martins recalled that Angola was subject to a war for many years, so he knows "the price that this has and it is not positive for anyone" that the situation continues.

"We regret what is happening, we believe that there are always other solutions, the impact of losing lives is not positive for anyone and we must all make efforts so that it does not even start", he pointed out.
