Angola accelerates negotiations for the Reciprocal Protection of Investments Agreement with Hungary

The first round of negotiations for the Agreement for the Reciprocal Protection of Investments (APRI) took place on the 27th and 28th of January, in Budapest, as part of the concertation of the 1st Joint Bilateral Commission "Republic of Angola-Hungary".

Angola was represented at the negotiating table by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and the Economy and Planning, informed this Thursday, in Luanda, the National Director of Studies and Planning, Luís Epalanga, during the presentation of the biweekly briefing in the field of Planning, held at the Carlos Rocha Dilolwa Press Room, at the ministry's headquarters.

On the occasion, the official informed that the two countries intend with the implementation of the aforementioned agreement, among others, to stimulate investment and business initiatives, intensify economic cooperation for mutual benefit, promote investments that contribute to the sustainable development of both countries and guarantee a general framework of rights and obligations balanced between investors from both territories.

As an instrument to guarantee the integrity of investment assets, an APRI (Reciprocal Protection of Investments Agreement) has as its main objective the granting to investors, of a certain State, of a set of protections in relation to investments carried out in the territory of the other State from of its entry into force.
