According to the Secretary of State for Local Authorities, Márcio Daniel, who was speaking this Wednesday at the official launch ceremony of the Project to Support Civil Society and Local Administration in Angola (PASCAL), the Ministry of Territory Administration already has authorization superior to hold the forum.

Speaking to journalists at the end of the PASCAL presentation ceremony, where he took part in the opening and the question and answer session, Mário Daniel said that the aforementioned forum, as part of the participatory budget package, should take place at the end of February.

"We will have the opportunity to talk about the municipal accountability forum, but now it was just to say that it is an activity that will be carried out, and should be carried out at the end of this month and everything is within the participatory budget package" , replied to Lusa.

The participatory budget and its respective regulation have legal support in presidential decree nº 235/19 of 22 June.

The instrument aims to encourage the direct participation of citizens in the definition of local priorities, promoting participatory, democratic and shared management of public resources at the local level.
