At the end of the meeting with the head of state, Gilberto Veríssimo explained that the plan was proposed by the Republic of Congo (which assumes the acting presidency of the organization) and aims at the development of roads and railways of the countries that are part of CEEAC.
The executive secretary of ECCAS revealed that he is "traveling through the 11 member countries of ECCAS to publicize the initiative and its implementation process.
According to the official, quoted in a note posted on the government's Facebook page, during the trip, Gilberto Veríssimo took more than eight hours "to leave Libreville for Brazzaville.
This trip, he said, should have been made in less time, if "the road and communication conditions were better".
It is this kind of constraints that the CEEAC Integration Plan intends to solve, admitted the executive secretary.
EECAC was created in 1983 in Libreville, Gabon, and aims to promote cooperation and self-sustainable development among member countries. Angola, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Republic of Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon and Sao Tome and Principe are part of the community.
