CASA-CE parties consider dismissing their president “for incompetence”

CASA-CE independent deputy Makuta Nkondo said this Tuesday that the party is discussing the removal of the coalition president, André Mendes de Carvalho "Miau", because he "proved his incompetence in the leadership".

:

"They (members of the presidential college of the coalition) speak openly, and I accompany them, that they no longer want the" Meow "because he has proven his incompetence at CASA-CE and as the elections are coming they really want his replacement", said Makuta Nkondo, speaking to Lusa.

According to the independent deputy of the Wide Convergence of Salvation of Angola - Electoral Coalition (CASA-CE), the coalition, created in April 2012 by Abel Chivukuvuku, "was dying, died and was already buried" and "only Chivukuvuku has the power to resuscitate -there".

Deputy André Mendes de Carvalho "Miau", son of the late historical nationalist and writer Agostinho Mendes de Carvalho, was confirmed president of the coalition in May 2019, after the removal of Abel Chivukuvuku, in February of the same year, for alleged "breach of confidence".

The electoral coalition is composed of six political parties, namely the National Party of Salvation of Angola (PNSA), Party of Free Alliance of Angolan Majority (PALMA), Party of Angolan Pacific (PPA), Party of Support for Democracy and Development of Angola - Patriotic Alliance (PADDA-AP), Democratic Party for Progress and National Alliance of Angola (PDP-ANA) and the Democratic Bloc (BD).

At the time, five parties, with the exception of the BD, agreed to the removal of Abel Chivukuvuku.

Today, the press reports that four coalition parties, except BD and PADDA-AP, "demand, in a letter already delivered to the presidential college of CASA-CE, the resignation" of André Mendes de Carvalho "Miau" from the leadership of this third political force in the country.

Makuta Nkondo, who says "I have no information" about the said letter, admitted, however, that it was delivered last Saturday, saying that he has already asked the presidential college of CASA-CE to "ask for forgiveness and call for the return of Chivukuvuku ".

"I have already spoken to Chivukuvuku and made him the proposal to return to CASA-CE and his answer was that he does not accept and does not refuse the proposal, the door is open but he cannot decide for himself because he has followers and that is what I informed the presidential college ", he noted.

The politician Abel Chivukuvuku leads the political project PRA-JA Servir Angola, led by the Constitutional Court for alleged "irregularities" and "insufficiency of signatures" for its legalization.
