The Mayombe Forest is the second most extensive forest in the world, just behind the Amazon.
Composed by a very varied fauna, in this forest you will find chimpanzees, gorillas, monkeys, elephants and several rare birds.
The Mayombe Forest is located in Cabinda, in the north of the country, and is still spread throughout the Democratic Republic of Congo, Republic of Congo and Gabon.
The forest is the ideal place for nature lovers, as its 290,000 hectares are filled with various species of trees that are over 50 metres high. Blackwood, Ebony and African Sandalwood are some of the tree species you can see in this forest.
