According to Ernesto Muangala, the managers of the general hospital David Bernardino Camanga, in the central district of Mussungue, were exonerated for “indiscipline” taking into account the “non-compliance” of the superior orders of the provincial government and the provincial health office.
"The hospital cannot continue to bear personnel costs for goods and services, that is, money intended for the purchase of medicines for the purchase of food, paper, payment of some contracted personnel, among others", said the ruler quoted by the local press.
The presentation of a health professional in the hospital unit "in a state of intoxication" was also pointed out by Ernesto Muangala as an act of indiscipline allowed by the previous management.
This is the third time that the government of the province of Lunda Norte, in eastern Angola, exonerates the management of the hospital unit, pointing out “indiscipline” among the reasons.
Recently, a video circulated on social media where two semi-naked women performed macumba (witchcraft) rituals, with chants and 'xinguilamentos' (communication in trance), for a patient admitted to the general hospital of Mussengue.
The act also deserved condemnation and rejection by Muanguala: “We cannot allow modern medicine to live with macumbas as it happened very recently in the largest hospital in our province”, he noted.
On the occasion, the director of the provincial health office of Lunda Norte, Gime Nhunga, said that an investigation process was initiated and that those involved are already providing clarifications to the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC).
"Internally, at the hospital, we are taking measures in relation to the team that was on duty, because it is not permissible for them [the ladies] to have access to the observation room", he stressed.
