Angolans Chelsea Dinorath, Landrick, DJ Nelasta and Telminho nominated for the Trace Awards 2025

Four Angolan artists are nominated for the Trace Awards 2025. These are Chelsea Dinorath, nominated in two categories, as well as Landrick, DJ Nelasta and Telminho, nominated in one category each.

Singer Chelsea Dinorath is nominated in the categories of 'Best Artist from Lusophone Africa' and 'Best Female Artist'.

Landrick is also competing in the category of 'Best Artist from Lusophone Africa'. In addition to the two Angolans, artists Calema, Soraia Ramos, Mr Bow and Twenty Fingers are also nominated for this category.

DJ Nelasta is competing in the 'Best DJ' category, while Telminho is in the running for the 'Best Dancer' award.

Interested parties can vote for their favorite contestant via the awards website.

According to a statement sent to VerAngola, "the public vote represents 50 percent of the decision and can make all the difference in choosing the winning artists, and the final classification will be defined by the vote of a specialized jury."

Voting is now open and ends on February 15th.

The awards ceremony will take place on February 26th, in Zanzibar, Tanzania.

"The Trace Awards celebrate the richness and excellence of Afro music across the styles of Afrobeat, Dancehall, Hip-Hop, Afro-Pop, Mbalax, Amapiano, Zouk, Kizomba, Genge, Coupé-Décalé, Bongo Flava, Soukous, Gospel, Rap, Raï, Kompa, RnB and Rumba. Among the nominees, who compete in 24 different categories, are artists from more than 30 countries, representing Africa, South America, the Caribbean, the Indian Ocean and Europe," the note says.
