According to the presidential order to which Lusa had access, published in Diário da República on January 11, it was not possible to complete the privatization of TV Cabo Angola previously “due to the complexity of the preparatory work to comply with the requirements for admission to the stock exchange” , with new authorization now being given to sell the 15 percent state-owned stake through an Initial Public Offering.
TV Cabo was among the 73 companies and assets to be privatized in 2023. The package of telecommunications companies to be privatized also includes Unitel and Angola Telecom.
