"Public security in Luanda is stable. It is true that at certain times we have the feeling that the police should do more or that there is no public security. It is stable, it needs to continue to be improved, but, in general, the activities that contribute to the maintenance of order, tranquility and public security in the province of Luanda, they are established", he stated, quoted by Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA).

Still in the field of security, the governor added that "there are coordination mechanisms and the security bodies, the province's bodies, are equally committed to returning a feeling of security to our populations".

According to the governor, the provincial government will "continue to pay attention to improving and building the macro-drainage system".

"For municipalities like Viana, where in the rainy season we have a lot of pressure and, not just the municipality of Viana, we will continue to pay attention to improving and building the macro-drainage system. Our priority now in 2024 is precisely this", stated Manuel Homem, quoted by RNA.

Among other aspects, he said that the city's toponymy will also undergo changes: "Citizens will notice a change in the city's toponymy, once we have completed the consultation process, which is necessary and mandatory under the terms of the law so that we can move forward with this change. It is in fact a necessity that will, in addition to dignifying our national heroes and citizens, will also facilitate the organization of the city itself".

It should be noted that, to mark the 448th anniversary of the city of Luanda, this Thursday, the Marginal de Luanda hosts the "Luanda é Cultura" fair, as well as a drone and fireworks show.

Still within the scope of the celebrations, according to Jornal de Angola, on Friday and Saturday a quadrangle of Mão Bol, on the Island of Luanda, is planned, where the Gastronomy Fair will also take place.

The celebrations, which began at the beginning of January, do not end there, ending on the 31st of this month with a workshop on youth volunteering, taking place at Casa da Juventude in Viana.
