According to the person responsible, these chick breeders are highly productive, with a production capacity of 250,000 broilers and 250 layers annually. According to Angop, it is also expected that, in the short term, 1000 breeders will be obtained daily.

Adilson Mognol also said that they brought "genetic material that was valued at around two million reais, apart from all the investment that was or will be made to produce this genetic material".

The aforementioned project could bring self-sufficiency to the country in terms of chicken production. The official does not put aside the possibility of extending the initiative to all provinces of Angola and, thus, not only contributing to the country's self-sufficiency in this matter but also helping future exports.

In terms of jobs, more than 4000 direct jobs are expected to be created. "This project expects to generate more than 4000 direct jobs. And there are also indirect jobs, as these investments generate large chains from where the chicken, eggs, matrix, fuel, poultry or feed carriers, mechanical workshop, among others", he said, quoted by Angop.

He also said he considers the action as a milestone "not only for Brazil, which is the first country to export genetic material, but also for Angola, which has a great probability of becoming a major producer and exporter of chicken".

Amadeu Leitão, Secretary of State for Commerce, applauded the initiative and affirmed the Government's continuity in creating conditions that encourage direct private investment: "The Angolan Government has given due institutional support, so we want to praise this initiative, for the constitution of the genetic bank, making Angola the fourth country with this project in the world. Therefore, it is to be praised and we must praise this initiative", he stated, quoted by Angop.

On the occasion, he also mentioned the contribution to reducing chicken meat prices. "In the very near future, our population will have easier access and at lower prices. Today the price of chicken is quite high, and lowering prices means that the population has access and can buy their chicken", he stated, quoted by Television Public of Angola (TPA).

Valdir de Moura Júnior, president of the Executive Committee of WestAves Angola, said that the goal is to reach, within a three-year time horizon, a production capacity of one million chickens per day. "Our goal is that, in three years, we will be able to produce one million chickens per day, birds that will be available for sale live, frozen, as whole chicken and in cuts, meeting the needs and culture of local consumption", he indicated, cited by Angop.

As part of the project, according to Angop, WestAves invested approximately one billion kwanzas to implement an aviary in Icolo and Bengo, the opening of which is about to take place. Initially, the unit will be capable of producing 20,000 chickens monthly.

The Maria Teresa unit is still being built, with a production capacity of 100,000 chickens monthly in the first year of operation.
