In addition to fishing nets, the factory – which, according to Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA), will be built in the country's capital – will also reinforce the agricultural sector through the production of bags.

"We are committed to making a net factory, nets not only for the fishing industry, but also for the agricultural industry (...)", stated António Gama, adding: "We want to produce here in Angola, because we have a good market, not only for the country, but also for neighboring countries that will be able to buy and who knows, even Latin America also needs these materials".

Quoted by RNA, the head of the SFT said they were "already making good progress", pointing to the implementation of the project this year.

"We are already making good progress, we have already surveyed the market, we are committed and this is a project that will begin to be implemented this year", he added.

Among other aspects, António Gama informed that they also intend to move forward with a fishing warehouse in Malanje: "We are finalizing an agreement with the port, where we are waiting for a concession so that we can implement reception cameras so that we can use the Malanje to place the product in Malanje. We want to create a warehouse in Malanje so that we can place it, through the railway line, there are already protocols with the railway, there are already protocols with the government of Malanje, we already have the land provided, so we can work on this aspect and put the price of fish on the central plateau of Malanje practically the same as in Luanda".

According to the executive administrator of the SFT, from Malanje, the fish can be distributed to other provinces at a lower price. "After Malanje, the fish can be distributed to all other provinces at a much lower value, since we will already place the fish in Malanje, so this will mean that we will be able to reduce the price of fish there in those provinces further inland," he said, quoted by RNA.
