Drilling work ended on December 21st and the results confirm “the existence of oil in almost the entire thickness of the reservoir, significantly increasing the remaining potential of the Tobias field”.
“The production capacity of the well will be verified after tests are carried out to be carried out soon”, the note adds.
According to the oil company, the successful drilling of the well, called 'Tobias 14', “associated with the also successful operation in the 'Tobias 13' well, catapults Sonangol, as operator, and its partners, Apex, Brite's Oil, Grupo Simples and Omega, for the reactivation of production in the Cuanza onshore basin, scheduled for the end of the current year”.
That basin has been inactive since the 1990s, with the Exploration and Production Unit and its partners from the 'KON-11' Land Block being the authors of the return of oil activity in that region, the note concludes.
