Government has 330 billion kwanzas available to support the productive sector in 2024

The Government will “continue to support” national businesspeople, with more than 300 billion kwanzas available this year to support the productive sector.

The information was provided by José de Lima Massano, Minister of State for Economic Coordination, who explained that the General State Budget for this year, which is already in force, foresees the "issuance of sovereign guarantees" of 330 billion kwanzas for intends to "serve the productive sector".

"We will continue to support. We also have for this 2024 Budget, which has already come into force, solutions to support financing, with the 330 billion we put for the issuance of sovereign guarantees that we want to be able to serve the productive sector, in general, but, in a very particular way, those operators who are operating in the food sector", said Lima Massano, quoted by Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA).

The minister – who was speaking in Bié, where he was, last Saturday, on an observation visit to economic assets of the Social Security Institute of the Angolan Armed Forces (ISSFAA) – also left an invitation to the business class. "Making some investments that, as a rule, are of a public nature, and recovering these investments against their responsibilities, tax obligations, and in this specific case I am referring to energy. For some of the projects we visited, they are not part of the public network yet, but not it is so far away, the set of needs we have are multiple, but if the private sector is able to also place some of its resources there and has the capacity to recover them through taxation", he stated, quoted by RNA.

According to a note from the Government of the Province of Bié, to which VerAngola had access, on his visit to Bié, Lima Massano was accompanied by the ministers of Defense and Veterans of the Fatherland, João Ernesto dos Santos "Liberdade", of Agriculture and Floresta, Francisco Assis, as well as provincial governor Pereira Alfredo.

In Bié, the Minister of State for Economic Coordination visited the "Agro-industrial farms of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), and Rice Field in the municipality of Camacupa", as well as the "Cerâmica Prémio da Paz and the Seedling Production Center, all located in the commune of Chipeta, municipality of Catabola".
