Petro de Luanda confirmed in the first edition of the African Superliga

Petro de Luanda, coached by Portuguese coach Alexandre Santos, will play in the first edition of the African Super League in football, from October to November, the African Football Confederation (CAF) confirmed this Thursday.


There are eight teams that, in an experimental phase, will compete in the competition, namely, Wydad Athletic, African champion, and Raja Casablanca, both from Morocco, Al Ahly from Egypt, Mamelodi Sundowns from South Africa, Petro de Luanda from Angola, Simba SC from Tanzania, Esperance de Tunis from Tunisia and Horoya from Guinea Conakry.

Each team will receive a participation bonus valued at around one million dollars (one million euros), with the winner fitting into the coffers around six million, and they will also be exempt from expenses with air transport and accommodation, which will be borne by CAF
