According to the authorities, the rains also accentuated landslides in the municipalities of Icolo and Bengo, Viana and Cacuaco.
The spokesman for the Luanda Provincial Civil Protection and Fire Service, Faustino Mingues, pointed to this as a provisional assessment of the consequences of the rains in the capital.
"The Provincial Civil Protection Commission's Operational Coordination Center is working on collecting and processing data on the rains that fell during the night of the 12th and early morning today", explained the official.
"These are still provisional information, because the Coordination Center is receiving information through the municipal civil protection commissions and the CISP [Integrated Public Security Centre]", he stressed.
Since the early hours of this Friday, several citizens have reported difficulties with circulation and their vehicles due to the roads, in several neighborhoods of Luanda, which are impassable.
The rains also flooded several buildings and public and private institutions and several images on social networks portray the consequences of the rains.
The National Institute of Meteorology and Geophysics is forecasting rain for Luanda and other parts of the country for this Friday afternoon.
