The General Population and Housing Census – CENSO 2024, says the INE, comprises three phases, the first of which is already underway with the cartographic update, counting on cartographers, informatics and drivers throughout the national territory.
According to INE, in a statement released this Tuesday, at this stage it is expected to divide the country into around 92,000 sections for the purposes of interviews with households.
The entity responsible for producing and disseminating official statistics in Angola also mentions that for the year 2024, the second stage of the pilot census, the collection of information digitally will begin, for the first time, from households.
The third and final stage of the 2024 CENSUS covers the complete collection, compilation, analysis and publication of demographic and socioeconomic data and of all dwellings and their occupants in the territory.
President João Lourenço recently created, by order, a multisectoral commission for the 2024 CENSUS coordinated by the Minister of State and head of the Military House of the President of the Republic, Francisco Pereira Furtado.
INE, the body that conducts the second General Population and Housing Census, after the first carried out in 2014, recently estimated that Angola will have 35.1 million inhabitants in 2024.
