The summary of the sanctioning action by the National Bank of Angola (BNA) for the fourth quarter of 2022, which Lusa had access to this Thursday, says that of the 118 sanctioning processes completed, 74 were related to banking financial institutions and the rest to non-bank.
According to the BNA, two of the sanctioning processes against non-banking financial institutions focused on "holders of relevant management functions".
At the level of banking financial institutions, stresses the document prepared by the BNA's Financial System Regulation and Organization department, prudential infractions led the registers with 34 occurrences.
Non-compliance with rules for spatial registration, rules for combating and preventing money laundering and financing of terrorism and the regulatory deadline for reporting credit to the real economy were some infractions in prudential matters.
With regard to exchange matters, the central bank recorded infringements for non-compliance with the reporting deadline and the limit of the exchange position, the duty to report on executed exchange operations.
Banking financial institutions totaled, in the last three months of 2022, 34 infractions in the field of financial conduct, including non-compliance with procedures for disclosing financial products and services.
As for non-banking financial institutions, the BNA recorded eight violations in terms of exchange rate matters, 12 violations in terms of financial conduct and 24 in relation to prudential matters, namely non-compliance with the regulatory deadline for reporting the cons report and others.
