According to a source from the company's management, of Angolan origin and in the Cape Verdean market since May 2021, this second ATR72-600 will be delivered to BestFly in Toulouse, France, on Friday, and should arrive at Nelson Mandela International Airport, in Praia , on Tuesday, February 1, "to join the first registered by the company in the archipelago", in September 2021.

Since last December, the company, which operates domestic flights with the commercial designation BestFly Cabo Verde, had a second ATR72-600 in operation, registered in Angola and which will return to Luanda in February, the same source told Lusa.

As of next month, domestic connections will be provided by the two aircraft acquired by BestFly and registered in Cape Verde, in an investment that the company estimates at three million euros in less than a year.

BestFly's management guarantees that it is "a long-term solution" and that it represents the "commitment to Cape Verde".

The company says that it is also in the process of acquiring two smaller planes, "to ensure the sustainability of the operation during the low season".

"The fleet planned for BestFly in Cape Verde is six aircraft, to ensure a robust but sustainable growth of our operation. And it is also a way to support the promotion of the development of an air hub in Cape Verde, at a time gradual resumption of air connections around the world", says the airline's management.

In December 2021, the company carried out 356 flights connecting the Cape Verdean islands, with 17,413 passengers and an occupancy rate of around 75 percent. This month, the company has already secured 226 inter-island flights, carrying 10,150 passengers.

The BestFly group, of Angolan origin, operates on several continents in the civil aviation sector and on July 5, 2021, it agreed to purchase 70 percent of the share capital of the Cape Verdean company Transportes Interilhas de Cabo Verde (TICV).
