The coordinator also mentioned that, in a short period of time, Angola will be able to supply imports of four goods, which are part of the list of 11 products cataloged for the Strategic Food Reserve: maize, millet, cassava and salt.
"To overcome all the pressure that the economy suffered in 2020 and 2021, Angola had to have an internal productive system capable of supplying 37 million people, but unfortunately, the country is still in the construction phase of this system", conjectured the official, in an interview on TPA's Grande Interview program and quoted by Angop.
Eduardo Machado envisaged that as soon as the market stabilizes, the acquisition of national goods should begin, as a priority, supported by the fact that foreign currency is not needed to acquire goods, as well as by encouraging employment and economic activity.
He highlighted that, with this panorama, economic capacity is expanded and the national producer and domestic production are promoted, but employment also grows, writes Angop.
The official also took the opportunity to highlight, as an example, that there is a minimum reserve of 18 thousand tons of cornmeal, considering that this will help to reduce the burden of the 11 products of the basic basket as well as complete the goods that are already on the market.
"With this mechanism, the country intends, in advance, to create bases with benefits to be able to regularize the market, starting with the rationalization of the training circuit to regularize the two thirds of the country's informal economy", he explained, adding that the mechanism will be a buyer production, allowing producers to find alternatives to sell their productions.
The coordinator also considered that if the economy is solid, it will force informal agents to associate themselves with formality, with the reserve ensuring the disposal of surplus products.
