Assessing the past year and what is expected for this year, the government official said that the development of the Angosat-2 satellite is underway and considered that the satellite will help to improve the degree of coverage of the telecommunications services provided to citizens.
Regarding possible obstacles in the development of Angosat-2, the Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication portfolio holder indicated that constraints had not yet been verified and indicated that the teams are committed to complying with the schedule.
"The technical teams are committed so that within the established timetable (first half of 2022) we can have the satellite completed and in orbit", he indicated, quoted by Angop.
It should be remembered that Russia and Angola had already signed an agreement for the production of a first satellite, Angosat-1. However, after having entered the orbiter in 2017, the satellite lost contact with Earth. In 2018, a new agreement emerged for the construction of a second satellite, with the aim of replacing Angosat-1.
