The parliamentary group of the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA), the largest opposition party, will also present a draft law on the exercise of the right of democratic opposition to the National Assembly.

According to the chairman of UNITA's parliamentary group, Liberty Chiyaka, who was speaking at a press conference in Luanda, his party will also submit draft laws amending the State Budget Law (OGE) to parliament.

"To allow an adjustment of the deadlines for the presentation of the General State Account, the quarterly execution reports and the methodology of relationship between the executive and civil society organizations at the time of preparing the OGE", clarified Liberty Chiyaka.

The draft law on incompatibilities in the exercise of public office, explained the UNITA politician, "is a contribution to the de-partisanship of public administration".

Regarding the bill on the exercise of the right of democratic opposition, Liberty Chiyaka reported that her admission to parliament had been rejected, but that she should be admitted now, in the fifth and final parliamentary year of the current legislature, for discussion.

"It is a very important law for democracy that minimizes the crisis in the media. The lack of contradiction and the partiality of public bodies discredited the 'media' and journalists and irremediably compromised the executive's statement that it wants democracy to Angola", said the politician.

The draft law on the exercise of the right of democratic opposition "is not a law for the opposition", rather "it is a law for everyone", he pointed out.

"It is a law to consolidate Angolan democracy and our rule of law," he added.

Chiyaka also recalled, in her speech, that her parliamentary group has already submitted its bill on the right to freedom of assembly and demonstration to the National Assembly and will do everything "to have it scheduled for discussion in the coming days".

"The law that we proposed clarifies concepts to eliminate misunderstandings, establishes limits to remove fears, disciplines behaviors to avoid abuses and establishes clear rules to be observed by everyone, protesters, the police and counter-demonstrators", justified the parliamentary leader of the UNITED
