Angola and Greece sign agreement on political consultations

An agreement of understanding on political consultations was signed, this Tuesday, by Angola and Greece. This memorandum, which aims to strengthen cooperation between the two countries, is the first signed between both countries since the Angolan Embassy in Greece was opened in 2014.

The Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Esmeralda Mendonça, and the Greek ambassador to Angola, Calliope Diout, were the signatories of the memorandum, with the Greek official present.

Cited by Angop, Nikolaos Dendias, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece, defended the strengthening of cooperation between his country and Angola in various sectors.

Still within the range of bilateral relations between Angola and Greece, the Ministry of Youth and Sports said, in a note made available on its Facebook page, that Greece will donate 50,000 euros to the guardianship.

According to the statement, the delivery of "the symbolic check" will be made by the Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikolaos Dendias.

The money will be channeled "to the Okuhateca Athletics School, a project that covers the provinces of Huíla, Cunene and Namibia and which is supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports".
