Portuguese from Secil consider the purchase of 49 percent of Secil Lobito from the Angolan state

Portuguese business group Secil is considering "all the possibilities" given the government's intention to privatize the 49 percent share it holds in Secil Lobito, an official source at the Portuguese company told Lusa.

:

The source contacted by Lusa said that Secil Angola and the National Cement Company of Angola (ENCIME), "the sole shareholders of Secil Lobito, are following the privatization process underway in Angola, which covers Secil Lobito".

"Shareholder companies in close liaison with IGAPE (Institute for the Management of State Assets and Participations) and under the statutory terms, consider all the possibilities of corporate reconfiguration of Secil Lobito, for which they maintain regular close contacts", they point out.

On April 4, the daily O País reported that the State will proceed with the privatization of Secil Lobito.

"The Angolan State intends to move forward, as soon as possible, with the privatization process of the 49 percent share capital it holds in Secil Lobito (Cimento Company of Lobito) through ENCIME, with the process taking place through public tender, within the scope of the Privatization Process (PROPRIV) underway in the country, as guided by a Presidential Order of December 28, 2021", writes the newspaper.
