Filipe Zau, Minister of Culture, Tourism and Environment, considers that culture plays an important role in the country's democracy.
According to the minister, this year, the celebrations correspond to "the famous speech of comrade president Agostinho Neto at the Angolan Writers Union, where the line was drawn on national culture and the path that we must follow".
Quoted by Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA), Filipe Zau considered that the path to follow is "a path of progress and a path of social justice, a path of democracy (...)".
"Identity issues without losing sight of alterity and the sense of diversity and the construction of Angolanity (...) so that our country, which is a mosaic of cultures and languages, can unite in the sense of the political homeland , of the ideological homeland above cultural identity", he added.
