Better known as Marginal, Avenida 4 de Fevereiro is a mandatory stop for those passing through Luanda.
The avenue overlooks the Bay of Luanda, and is considered an artery of the capital with great prestige. In it are located several ministries, public services, headquarters of large companies, the University Agostinho Neto and the National Bank of Angola.
Along with the breathtaking view of the Bay of Luanda, the avenue is also composed of several large spaces ideal for practicing a bit of sport, whether running, walking or cycling.
The less athletic can just take the chance to walk along the avenue and enjoy the view.
In former colonial times, it was called Avenida de Paulo Dias de Novais, in honor of the city's founder. However, its name was changed to February 4 to mark the beginning of the armed struggle for the country's independence in 1961.
