Angola enters to lose in the Handball World Cup

Angola lost against Qatar, 30-25, in their opening game in the men's Handball World Cup, which started this week in Egypt.

:

The game started at 4:30pm local time (one hour less in Angola) and the national team entered strong, having opened the scoring in the first three minutes, with a goal from Aguiar.

Angola was in the lead, but before the first half ended, Qatar got the advantage. The national team went to the break in unraveling, with only one point difference (14-13).

In the second half, Qatar was stronger and emerged victorious (30-25).

The match was also marked by the substitution of a referee 14 minutes after the beginning of the second period. The Portuguese referee Ricardo Fonseca, who was officiating the match together with the Portuguese Duarte Santos, apparently injured himself on his left knee and had to leave the field.

With this victory, Qatar takes the lead in Group C, with two points. Croatia and Japan, who are also part of the group, play this Friday at 7pm local time (one hour less in Angola).

Angola will take the field again on Sunday, January 17, where they will face Croatia. The game is scheduled for 7pm local time (one hour less in Angola).
