Bornito de Sousa represents PR at the inauguration ceremony of the re-elected President of Ghana

The Vice-President of the Republic, Bornito de Sousa, travels this Tuesday to the Republic of Ghana, where he represents the Head of State, João Lourenço, in the official investiture ceremony of President Nana Akufo-Addo.

The Ghana Electoral Commission announced that Nana Akufo-Addo was re-elected for a second term after winning the elections, held on 7 December, with 51.69 percent of the vote.

Bearing a message from President João Lourenço addressed to his Ghanaian counterpart, the vice president is accompanied by the secretary of state for Foreign Affairs, Esmeralda Mendonça, and by senior officials in his office, says a statement sent to VerAngola.

William Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is the 5th President of the history of the Ghanaian Republic, and will swear an oath on Thursday, the 8th, in Accra, for a new four-year term at the head of the destinies of the former British colony, which has become independent on March 6, 1957.
