Covid-19: country reports 110 new cases, five deaths and 122 recoveries

The country registered, in the last 24 hours, 110 new cases of infection by the new coronavirus, five deaths and 122 people recovered, according to the epidemiological bulletin of the National Directorate of Public Health released this Sunday.

The new cases were notified in Lunda Sul (41), Kwanza Sul (23), Luanda (19), Bié (8), Huambo (6), Zaire (5), Huíla (3) and Moxico (2).

The ages vary between 2 and 90 years, being 64 male and 46 female.

In this period, five people died due to covid-19 and another 122 were considered recovered.

The laboratories processed 1261 samples per RT-PCR, in a cumulative of 334,345 tests performed.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Angola accounts for a total of 18,875 cases, including 16,347 recovered, 2109 active (including nine critical and eight severe) and 436 deaths.

The covid-19 pandemic has caused at least 2,022,740 deaths resulting from more than 94.4 million cases of infection worldwide, according to a balance sheet made by the French agency AFP.

The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected at the end of December 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China.
