Covid-19: country notifies 82 more cases, two deaths and 119 recovered

The authorities have notified in the last 24 hours 82 more cases of covid-19, two deaths and 119 recovered patients, according to the epidemiological bulletin of the National Public Health Directorate.

The new cases were diagnosed in people aged 8 months to 75 years in the provinces of Luanda (52), Moxico (19), Zaire (five), Bié (four), Benguela and Uíge (three each), Lunda Norte (two), Lunda Sul, Cuando Cubango and Cabinda (one each).

Of the 82 new cases, 33 are male and 49 female.

One man and one woman, both 77 years old, died of the disease, in addition to the 119 considered recovered, aged between 21 and 51 years.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the country counts 18,425 confirmed cases of the disease, of which 2370 active, with 10 in critical condition and eight severe, 424 deaths and 15,631 recovered.

A total of 1281 samples were processed by RT-PCR, of which 75 were positive, and 62 samples by rapid diagnostic tests (antigen), with seven positive results.

The cumulative number of samples processed amounts to 327,046, with a positivity rate of 5.6 percent.

The covid-19 pandemic caused at least 1,963,557 deaths resulting from more than 91.5 million cases of infection worldwide, according to a balance sheet made by the French agency AFP.

The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected in late December 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China.
