Home of Elder John Paul II continues to deserve the attention of the Heroes in Blue

Within the scope of its social responsibility, Standard Bank de Angola, through the Heroes of Blue, continues to provide support to the more than 100 elderly people welcomed by the Lar do Ancião João Paulo II, located at Km14 A, in Viana.

In view of the current global situation, imposed by the covid-19 pandemic, the Heroes in Blue redefined their model of action to better respond to the countless challenges, according to a statement sent to VerAngola.

From March to December, various donations were distributed in needy communities, reception centers and hospitals to minimize the identified need. To help prevent covid-19, hygiene and cleaning, disinfection and biosafety products were always distributed in all deliveries, as well as leaflets and posters with instructions for preventing the disease.

For welcoming people from a risk group, Lar do Ancião continues to deserve special attention. Standard Bank de Angola reaffirms its commitment to social responsibility, promoting actions aimed at the care of the most needy, in various aspects, stimulating the development of communities, having its greatest bet on pillars that are decisive for the promotion of society.

The Heroes of Blue have more than 300 volunteers and also work in the areas of Health, Education and Entrepreneurship.

According to Jelson Domingos Kambuiso, responsible for the Heroes of Blue project, "the year 2020 proved to be a very difficult year for the world, taking into account the situation imposed by the pandemic of
Covid-19. Despite this fact, we are certain that we have exceeded the objectives set for 2020, as it was possible to adapt and intensify our performance ".
